Energies of the universe come together to make matter mass and elementary particles. Experiments confirm that this concentration to steady interaction of a local event is a function of large scale interchanges. So when we come to find out about particle interactions we are really accessing how all the different energies of the universe function through very localised coherent exchanges. Each different particle is a coming together of specific interchange effects of the whole universe.
We know that atomic processes here on earth share in common with large scale galactic material make up; all the very small particles including the neutrino are also found generally in the cosmos. Since it’s proposal this very tiniest of particles has been discovered present in nuclear atomic atmospheric solar and galactic exchanges. What we are dealing with is a type of energy coming together from all across the universe that only interacts slightly with the ordinary nuclear atomic matter of everyday experience. In fact neutrinos only involve their energies with electroweak transactions between neutrons and protons.
Many experiments confirm that there are at least three varieties of neutrino each with a very small mass. It was discovered in the 1990s that neutrinos from the sun change from one variety to another and this transition between types has been confirmed for atmospheric neutrinos and ones on earth in laboratory accelerators. Detectors have discovered that the very small neutrino masses also involve transitions between types. The different energies of the universe that come together as the neutrino masses vary in their function so that oscillations between types occur throughout all different experiments.
The 2011 Nobel prize for physics was given in recognition of this discovery of neutrino oscillation. The energies of the whole universe that come together in various ways to make the specific masses of the different neutrinos fluctuate and so cause interchanges. That this energies functioning of the universe into different specific individual neutrino masses occurs provides insight into a new possible perspective on events that happen in everyday experience. It may be that a new physics involving energies of the whole universe coming together in different ways can account for the effects of neutrino oscillation events.
