At first the ocean is our lives. We are aware of it all. Our actions bring us into contact with all that is in these depths. We sense a variety of influences as our experience grows.

As we come to the atmosphere our senses open. There is so much here that we are not familiar with. Even so our skills enable us to navigate with currents, swells, tides and breezes. We become effective at finding our way through all of this.

We are aware of the planets in the night sky. As we come to know more of these we start to wonder about what the worlds out there are like. Maybe they are not like planet earth. Could they have oceans made of different liquids than water.

Do any of these strange worlds have atmospheres? Perhaps they are not like the earth and have different exotic gaseous surrounds. Maybe they are also beyond our reach their possibilities for life. As we start to find out about them our knowledge of the galaxy develops.
